{March 10, 2008}   My Reflection on ICT

        Before taking two week ICT lessons, I didn’t know what ICT was.  However, I have already understood what it is.  ICT means Information Communication technology.  After taking two week ICT lessons, I suddenly discover teaching English can be interesting and diversified. 

        Nowadays teachers can make their own teaching more attractive and alluring.  By using ICT effectively, teachers can design a variety of teaching materials and make the atmosphere in the classroom lively. 

        However I think teachers should learn how to use ICT well in their teaching.  When they are going to teach, they should consider how to teach students suitably through ICT.  Students in different degrees will not have the same way to teach.  Therefore teachers should learn how to use ICT effectively in their teaching.               



        In order to make my teaching more effective and meaningful, I think I have to well prepare my own teaching materials at first.  I need to understand how to enhance students’ abilities of listening, speaking, reading, and writing.  I may try to get a lot of useful information which students really like.  Then I will spend time compiling the information into a good teaching material.  The most important thing is I have to make my class so interesting that students enjoy attending class.           



        In my point of view, I think grammar translation and comprehensive based approaches will have more influence on my teaching in future. 

Since I am an English major in TKU, I have already read a lot of literature in class.  Therefore I understand when I read masterpieces; my abilities of grammars can help me more realize the real meanings.  However I think it will be a difficult part for me to teach in the future.  I need to think how to make grammatical teachings more interesting.

Besides, the influence of comprehensive approach on me can’t be doubted.  Because I think listening comprehension is very essential and is viewed as the basic skill that will allow speaking, reading, and writing to develop spontaneously.  What’s more, I believe that it is fine you make some errors through learning.  I think the most important thing is learners can understand and can make themselves understood.
